Kate Austin

Department Manager

Kate is an occupational therapist with 11+ years of experience working in the pediatric field. She graduated from Quinnipiac University with a bachelor's in health science and master's in occupational therapy. Kate has worked in a variety of settings including outpatient clinics, school settings both public, private and medical, and home settings.

 

Kate has a passion for pediatrics and believes it takes a wholistic approach to help an individual. She enjoys working with families to provide the highest quality of care. Her specialties in her field include picky eating and feeding, behavioral and social/emotional, sensory processing, and reflex integration and has multiple certifications in these fields. Kate has experience working with clients across the full pediatric range from birth to 21 with many different diagnoses including: Autism, Down Syndrome, Developmental Delays, Cerebral Palsy, TBI and other neurological injuries impairments of the nervous system, Cognitive Delays and Learning Challenges, Exectuive Functioning Deficits, ADD and ADHD, Behavioral Challenges, Mental Health diagnosis including Anxiety, Depression, ODD, OCD, mood disorders and trauma, and LGBTQ+ and Gender Transitions.

 

When not in the clinic Kate enjoys rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking, backpacking and spending as much time as she can outdoors. She has recently gotten into ultra marathon races, completing her first trail marathon this past summer, and competes in these with her husband. When not training she enjoys reading, doing yoga, and spending time with her cat and husband often watching movies or trialing a new recipe in the kitchen
