LSVT LOUD Therapy for Parkinson’s

In-person and teletherapy options available
What is LSVT Loud Therapy?
LSVT LOUD is an effective speech treatment for people with Parkinson’s disease (PD) and other neurological conditions. The research-proven method for Parkinson’s rehabilitation called LSVT BIG & LOUD® was first developed in 1987 as LSVT LOUD®. LSVT LOUD trains people with PD to use their voice at a more normal loudness level while speaking at home, work, or in the community.
Symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease
One of the defining symptoms of PD is stiffness or slowing of movement. As the disease progresses, many patients also find their speech changes, becoming soft, slow or slurred. There is no known cure for the progressive disease, however, the targeted and intense therapies included in the LSVT LOUD® program can help patients combat difficulties and deterioration with speech.
LSVT LOUD Therapy for Parkinson’s
Patients with Parkinson’s frequently have difficulty with conversation because their voices are softer and they can often run out of breath. To help patients continue to engage in the world around them, the LSVT LOUD® program is designed to increase the clarity and loudness of the voice. The standard LSVT LOUD treatment program spans four weeks of individual clinical sessions (four times per week) plus daily homework and carryover exercises. Once that initial treatment is over, you’ll continue to practice at least once a day for 10–15 minutes.

Kind Words
We create relationships and are grateful to our many parents, agencies, and school counselors for their support throughout the years.
“I appreciate all of your, and your staffs’, efforts over the past several months. I have received a number of very positive remarks from my colleagues regarding the quality of everyone’s work.”
“ We switched from a large practice to SPGCT because I felt my child was lost in the mix. Rachel is on top of insurance claims and sends frequent emails to stay connected.”
“If there has ever been a parental, administrative or teacher concern – the ladies have jumped in immediately to help. It is evident these SLP’s have worked in our school systems for years.”
“I have been a contractor for many years - but this is the first time I have worked for a practice that is run by a fellow SLP - and what a difference it makes! Rachel truly understands our needs and our worth.”
