Occupational Therapy Assistant
Melissa Cicerchia is a driven Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA/L) who has pursued her passion for helping children with various educational achievements. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Valley Forge and an Associate of Science degree from Housatonic Community College. Melissa’s commitment to professional growth is evident through her Therapeutic Listening certification and ongoing pursuit of Handwriting Without Tears Level 1 certification.
Within her field, Melissa finds immense joy in working with children who require assistance with self-regulation and managing anxiety. Her empathetic nature and expertise in this area have allowed her to make a positive impact on the lives of her young clients.
Looking to the future, Melissa is enthusiastic about pursuing a Pediatric Aquatic Certification Program, which will further enhance her ability to provide specialized care to children.
Outside of work, Melissa enjoys indulging in her love for coffee, engaging in running activities, and cherishing precious moments with her friends and family. Notably, she brings a competitive spirit as a former college basketball player and has even completed a half marathon in 2019. While her professional pursuits are driven by a desire to help others, Melissa harbors an interesting quirk—she is grossed out by cottage cheese!
