According to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics, the need for Speech-Language Pathologists is expected to grow by 25% between 2019 and 2029. The demand for therapy and rehabilitation services has taken off as both young and old realize increasing needs for trained specialists to treat disabilities and assist in recoveries.

As one of the leading providers of speech, occupational, physical and ABA therapies in the area, The Speech Pathology Group and Rehab Services of CT (SPGCT) is committed to providing the highest quality therapy and rehabilitation programs for the residents of Shelton, Southbury and the surrounding communities.

Understanding that patients, parents, and caregivers often arrive with many questions and concerns as the need for therapy arrives, we are launching an education campaign over the coming months to provide information to guide everyone through the evaluation and treatment processes.

Our goal is that these regular articles will provide quick, easy-to-read snapshots that answer frequently asked questions, provide guidance and direction for next steps, and offer insights into our practice, letting you get to know us better.

Articles will be categorized into three topic areas:

  • Get To Know Us: These are articles that will profile our highly trained and outstanding staff, our facilities, the programs we offer, and what you need to know when choosing to work with our team.
  • Industry Knowledge: These will build understanding of the therapy and rehabilitation process, explaining evaluation and treatment options, warning signs, and integration with schools and care facilities.
  • Parent Perspectives: Through the eyes of a parent, these articles will help other new parents as they navigate the therapy process in what to expect and how to manage the process for their child.

All articles will be posted on our website and available through our social media platforms. Please follow us on Facebook and Instagram. Subscribe to receive all our articles through this link, and each will be automatically delivered to your email inbox.

SPGCT is excited to bring this educational resource to our community and encourage our clients and practice partners to share these articles.
